Cargo Handler

Overview:

Airport Terminal Management (ATM) provides cargo handling services for airlines and travelers at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). These services are available to airlines at all of the terminals and requires able-bodied employees to safely transport cargo.

Position Objective:

The Cargo Handler position is responsible for handling and transporting cargo where airlines need.

Primary Duties:

  • Safely handle packages for transport
  • Follow safety precautions at all times
  • Be knowledgeable of the airport and navigating around terminals
  • Interact with airline employees positively
  • Be compliant with TSA standards and regulations
  • Shuttle cargo from warehouse to baggage claim areas
  • Operate forklift for moving cargo

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in English
  • Must have a valid driver license issued by the state of California
  • Forklift Certification a plus
  • Drug Screening – Must submit for and pass a drug screening test
  • Physical Assessment Test – able to lift, push, pull, sort, stack and carry cargo weighing minimum 75 lbs
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Must be able to stand 4 to 6 hours daily
  • Able to stay overtime to get the work done in timely prompt manner
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to bend and kneel frequently
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S.A.
  • Must pass an extensive background check
